Another unmanned spy plane has crashed in Mindanao, this time in the upland part of Guindolongan town in Maguindanao. Moro villagers reported the incident to elements of the MILF who are encamped nearby. They took a picture of the plane, the body of which is virtually intact and forwarded it to luwaran. This is the latest reported crash of this tiny unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), more popularly known as "spy plane". Only the United States has these planes, because the Philippine military has none of this in its arsenal.
Provides info that the Global War On Terror (GWOT) is a valid description of some of the ways the U.S. has tightened it's grip on all types of terrorist groups.
My guess is that there are many smaller umanned vehicles in Afghanistan and Iraq, and likely in Iran, as well. The more that are shot down, or come down, for mechanical reasons, the more info will be gained. Even then, though, the intelligence agencies are probably monitoring all world wide phone calls that might mention rewards to have the vehicle forwarded to someone seeking to collect intel on their configuration, etc.
It's even possible that the CIA and Air Force know there is now a conduit from the Philippines to al-Qaeda in Pakistan or Afghanistan, and deliberately facilitated this vehicle's crash. In other words, they are prepared to monitor all signals intelligence and "chatter" to see what is done with the device.
Wow, your intellect and reasoning are amazing. If the U.S. intelligence community is monitoring all signals of intelligence and "chatter" about a crashed spy plane, what are the chances that they are monitoring this blog? And having revealed that a spy plane crashed and what area of the world, what are the chances that you compromised national secrecy to some degree? And following that line of reasoning, what are the chances that your name has been added to a list of 'anti-government' people to monitor in the future? These are rhetorical questions of course...
The article is pretty suspect. The picture shows a random remote controlled / unmanned plane, which most certainly is not a predator or other higher-end US model. Also, the claim that the Philippine army says they don't have them means it's US is pretty silly on its face; any knowledgeable hobbyist can build a plane such a the one picture. If there's an armed forces in the world that doesn't use something akin to this they're way behind their times.
You are so right on, Varjohaltia. This is a very suspect article intended to inflame both Dems and Reps. I hope everyone reading this blog will be suspicious of it's intent.
